WELCOME
Welcome to Kingmakers’ Nigerian Child Report website. The main aim behind the Child Report is to judge the performance in safe guarding the future, i.e. children of each state in Nigeria from the previous calendar year, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and rank each of the states.
The rankings for 2016 is our first ever compilation and looks at the performances of the states during 2015. We used 23 different social indicators which were then grouped into 5 major categories to arrive at our final assessment. The categories include Child Friendly Practices, Child Poverty, Education, Healthcare and Orphans and Vulnerable Children.
We sourced our data from a number of public sources including several government agencies and NGOs. By applying big data analytic techniques to the data, we can present deeper insights to make up for gaps which would have hindered us from getting a clearer picture of how well the states are performing in carrying out their duties to the people.
